Rainmaking Hong Kong - the webinar 「Rainmaking The Next Family Offices in Asia:The Bigger Vision and Mission of Family Offices in Asia - Carbon, Sustainability and Capital for Purpose」 was hosted on 21st September virtually together with Good City Foundation, Tsangs Group and FamilyOfficeHK, supported by Invest Hong Kong, ASEAN Youth Organisation and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok. The webinar was attended by audiences from Southeast Asia and Hong Kong with backgrounds of venture capital, traditional family businesses who seek transformation and other technology sectors.  

Keynote Presentation Given by Mr. Patrick Tsang, Chairman of Tsangs Group.

The webinar was kickstarted by Mr. Patrick Tsang, Chairman of Tsangs Group with the keen sharing of the history of the family since 1950s from food and restaurant businesses transforming into market leader in technology and impact investing upon the success in real estate investments. With the current global trade affairs, Mr. Tsang shedded light on the high opportunities family offices could catch up in the Southeast Asia market especially in sectors such as Next Generation Internet, FinTech, E-Commerce and Online Media. Meanwhile, Mr. Tsang emphasized and called for more responsible and sustainability related investment to the regions together with Hong Kong to boost more positive transformation of different industries and create valuable jobs and opportunities for the next generations in Asia.

The Webinar followed with the vigorous panel discussion joined by Mr. Kelvin Liu, Managing Director of Tsangs Group, Dr. Ben Li, Founder and Chairman of Urban Village Phnom Penh, Peggy Tse, CFA, Upstream Officer of the World Bank IFC - International Finance Corporation and Katy Yung, Managing Partner of Sustainable Finance Initiative (SFi), moderated by Christine Williams, Deputy Global Head of FamilyOfficeHK (Invest Hong Kong) on the matters such as role of Hong Kong in supporting family businesses in sustainability development in Southeast Asia as financial hub, importance of professional family office community building across the regions and how family offices can work together to share best practices in investing in sustainability.
